Victus: Barcelona 1714

Una novela histórica de ritmo trepidante. Obra en la que el autor recrea con precisión la tragedia de 1714 a través de un joven barcelonés, Martí Zuviría. A diferencia de sus otros libros, Sánchez Piñol se ha pasado del catalán al castellano. El autor explicó que empezó a escribir en catalán pero no funcionó, probó en castellano y ya no pudo parar, aunque sabe que es un riesgo y que mucha gente no lo entenderá. Se trata de una nueva versión de 1714 en la que el autor rinde homenaje al general Villarroel, a quien se ha escondido porque hablaba en castellano, pese a defender las libertades catalanas. Sánchez Piñol asegura que en este libro nada es inventado, ya que todo está registrado al milímetro. “Sé que cuando se cambia de idioma se ve como una deserción; espero tolerancia”.
