For this book the author has drawn from his experience in Mexico (he holds a bachelors degree from the Universidad de las Américas in Mexico City) and his three year residence in Madrid (where he received his PH. D. in Romance, Philology) to differentiate between standard Spanish and the Spanish spoken in Mexico.
